Photo and signature specifications for online forms
Upload errors are one of the most common problems. These general rules work for most portals; always follow the exact notice.
Photo
Recent colour photo with a plain light background, face clearly visible, no cap or dark glasses.
Use the format and size in the notice. Many Indian recruitment portals ask for a JPG of a few tens of kilobytes.
Crop to the requested dimensions instead of stretching the image.
Signature
Sign with a black or blue pen on white paper, then scan or photograph it in good light.
Crop tightly around the signature. Do not sign in capital letters if the notice forbids it.

Checking file size
If the file is too large, reduce the dimensions or the JPG quality.
If it is too small, the portal may reject it as unclear. Do not over-compress.
Before uploading
Open the file once to make sure it is the right image and not rotated.
Keep copies in the exact required sizes in one folder for future applications.
