How to write a cover letter
A good cover letter is short, specific to the job and explains why you fit.
Structure
Opening: the role you are applying for and where you saw it.
Middle: two or three reasons you fit, each backed by a fact from your experience.
Closing: thank the reader and say you are available for an interview.
Make it specific
Mention the company name and one thing you know about it.
Match your examples to the requirements in the job advertisement.
Keep it short
Three or four short paragraphs, under one page.
Do not repeat your whole CV. Pick the strongest points.
Common mistakes
Sending the same letter to every employer.
Addressing the wrong company or person. Check names before you send.
