Making your CV ATS-friendly
Many companies run CVs through software before a person reads them. Simple formatting helps it read yours correctly.
Use a simple layout
Standard headings such as Experience, Education and Skills.
Avoid putting key information in images, text boxes or headers.
Use the job's keywords
Read the job advertisement and use the same words for skills you genuinely have.
Do not paste hidden keywords. Recruiters see them and reject the CV.
Choose the right file
A text-based PDF or a DOCX works with most systems. Scanned images do not.
formzolo PDF and DOCX exports are text-based.
Dates and titles
Write job titles and dates clearly and in the same format throughout.
Explain gaps briefly if asked.
